Walk for Sudan 2008

It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon for the annual 5k Walk for Sudan. Men, women, and children of all ages were out to raise money and awareness for a number of organizations working in Sudan.

Following the walk through Cherry Creek State Park, participants enjoyed music, dance, and getting to know others in their community.

Funds raised at the Walk for Sudan benefit the following organizations:

Nuba Water Project

Project Education Sudan

Africa Today Associates

Bor Women's Association USA

Center for Refugee Guidance & Assistance

Colorado Coalition for Genocide Awareness and Action

Save Darfur Denver

Change the World. It Just Takes Cents

Leadership Institute of New Sudan (LIONS)

Rocky Mountain Survivors Center

Sudanese American Orphaned Rehabilitation Organization

metroAfrican was on hand to catch the action via video, which will be posted as soon as possible. Check back soon for that.

Many thanks to all who participated! If you missed it this year, you can still get involved with any of the above organizations. Donate your money and/or your time today!
