Yohannes Gebregeorgis Honored During CNN's All-Star Tribute

Yohannes Gebregeorgis of Denver-based Ethiopia Reads was honored as one of the top 10 CNN heroes of the year during the tribute show "CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute," which aired over Thanksgiving weekend.

Though he was not selected as the 2008 Hero of the Year, Mr. Gebregeorgis was recognized for his work bringing free public libraries and literacy programs to thousands of Ethiopian children as we wrote about previously.

The top prize of the evening went to Liz McCartney, who has been dedicated to helping survivors of Hurricane Katrina to rebuild their homes.
