Diversity Day at Emily Griffith Opportunity School

The Emily Griffith Opportunity School hosted a celebration of diversity today featuring displays of culture, food, music, dance and dress from around the world. The 2009 Diversity Day celebration allowed visitors to "tour the world" as folks from various regions congregated in different parts of the building. 

Following this world tour a Parade of Nations brought representatives from every continent through the halls of Emily Griffith Opportunity School carrying flags, singing songs, cheering.

The parade was followed by performances of song and dance by artists representing different traditions. Below is Abu singing a song from his native Somalia:
