Climb for Uganda

It was a cool, foggy Colorado morning that gave way to a moderate and sunshiny day perfect for hiking. The Climb for Uganda was organized by Boulder-based non-profit Educate!, an organization that works to support and educate socially responsible leaders in Uganda. Educate! currently works with 415 young Ugandan students guiding them through a rigorous leadership curriculum and providing mentors who help the students in the process of creating a social enterprise.

Before the hike, Educate! Executive Director and Founder Eric Glustrom told those in attendance a bit about the life of the students whom Educate! serves. Climbers were provided drinks and snacks and then headed off toward the summit of Flagstaff Mountain. The four mile trail snaked upwards providing spectacular views of the dissipating fog in the valleys below and mountains in the distance. Apparently it was also ladybug mating season, and they were everywhere!

  1. Awesome photos!

  2. Thanks Maya. We were glad to hear that the climb raised $7000 to train the next generation of leaders in Uganda! That's fantastic!
