Denver Twestival to benefit Shoes for Connor
5pm at Cool River Cafe - 8000 E Belleview Ave # C10, Greenwood Village
Denver is one of 200+ cities worldwide sponsoring a fundraiser September 12, 2009 in support of local charities in each of those cities. Denver Twestival has chosen Shoes For Connor, a Denver-based charity focused on collecting and distributing new and gently worn shoes to children in Africa. All 200+ cities will be raising money for their own local charity.
Film screening: Pray the Devil Back to Hell
7pm at St. Joseph Episcopal Church - 11202 W. Jewell Avenue, Lakewood
Pray the Devil Back to Hell chronicles the remarkable story of the courageous Liberian women who came together to end a bloody civil war and bring peace to their shattered country. Thousands of women—ordinary mothers, grandmothers, aunts and daughters, both Christian and Muslim—came together to pray for peace and then staged a silent protest outside of the Presidential Palace.

The African Community Center's Pancake Breakfast at Pablo's
7am at Pablo's Coffee - 630 E. 6th Ave, Denver
This is an "all you can eat" pancakes, sausage, juice, and delicious Pablo's coffee event! $5 presale - $7 day of event - $3 for kids (12 and under). Help raise money to support refugees resettling in Denver.
9am at Flagstaff Mountain in Boulder
Educate!, a Colorado and Uganda-based organization that empowers youth across Uganda to transform their communities, is presenting the First Annual Climb for Uganda. Why: To raise money to help youth across Uganda to transform their communities by creating locally-grown initiatives that solve the challenges of poverty, disease, and environmental degradation.
