Colorado's African Communities

Nigerian Women Association in Colorado

The Nigerian Women Association in Colorado was founded in 1989, as a non-profit organization based in Colorado. We are a 501 (c) (3) organization registered in the state of Colorado.

The idea of the Nigerian Women Association in Colorado emanated from the Nigerian women’s rallying support for one of their own during the tragic death of her husband in 1988. Subsequently, Mrs. Ngozi Onyeali, aka Lady Dee, impressed upon the women the need to have a viable organization that would serve their needs and also afford them a platform to promote womanhood, family, and the Nigerian culture.

  1. I have known for some time of your work and cheering you on from a distance in Boulder. I am writing now because I recently met a Nigerian woman at a conference on the east coast. She will be visiting Denver May 27-30 and needs a place to stay in south Denver. Is there anyone in your network who could help? I think you would enjoy her and be interested in the work she in planning to do in Nigeria. Please call or write so I can put her in contact directly.
