Rocky Mountain Survivors Center

RMSC

Since its inception in October 1996, Rocky Mountain Survivors Center (RMSC) has assisted refugees, asylum seekers and other immigrants in search of permanent status, all who cannot return to their home countries without endangering their lives and the lives of their families. The need for these services persists because torture is still so widespread in the world.

  1. To whom it may concern: back in 2002 or 2002 one of the attorneys RMSC worked with our friend Bocar Mbodj, a political refugee from Mauritania who escaped w/his family into Sudan & who was seeking political asylum in Denver, CO. Your attorney prepared a dossier & represented him in court to gain legal status. It was denied. Bocar was not given a copy of the dossier, & he has no information, no paperwork.. Can you direct us to someone who might have a copy of his file or any information on Bocar? I have talked with RMIAN, who cannot help but who gave me the name of the last director of RMSC , Regina Germain, who now is with the UN High Commision for Refugees in Washington, DC. Are you able to get her contact information for us? It seems impossible that all files from RMSC were destroyed. We do have Form G-639 Freedom of Information Act/Privacy Act Request, which we will submit, but we understand it takes 6 months. Bocar may not be able to remain here that long.
Thank you very much. Know that any help you are able to give us will be greatly appreciated.
